Round 1

Heat wins at Round 1 went to Scott Grocock, Lee Wearing, Jody Foster, Jonathan Goodacre, Ben Harding, Mark Whittaker, Michel Berendsen from Holland, Simon Farrer, Julian Vaux and Roy Watson.

Top Laps went to Jody Foster with 58 Laps

Round 2

Heats wins in this round with the weather starting to hot up were:

Ross Wiffen, Jerome Janssen, Jody Foster, Jan Triemstra, Ben Harding, Brian Weijers, Michel Berendsen, Simon Farrer, Dick Batty and Roy Watson.

The racing was very close but top laps went again to Jody 2 laps clear from Michel Berendsen with 56 Laps

Round 3

Last round of qualifying and places still to play for wins in this round went to : Scott Grocock, Lee Wearing, Jody Foster, Jan Triemstra, Ben Harding, Mark Whittaker, Michel Berendsen, Simon Farrer, Dick Batty and Roy Watson. Some of the heat wins only decided by split time

Top Laps in this round went to Roy Watson with 57 Laps from Jody Foster and Michel Berendsen with 56 Laps

Qualifying over and the drivers were split into the top 24 into 4 quarter finals with the Top 3 from each qualifying. All races now being run over 5 minutes also making it even harder with track conditions slippy now due to the oil from the cars and the sunshine.

Quarter Final 1

Jody Foster won this race with 73 Laps, second went to Scott Grocock with 71 Laps and Dick Batty coming home in third with 69 Laps

Quarter Final 2

Michel Berendsen won this quarter final with 72 Laps from his dutch compatriot Brian Weijers with 70 Laps and Andrew Whittaker completing the top 3 with 69 Laps just beating Jerome Janssen on split time.

Quarter Final 3

A very close race this one with lots of positions swapping throughout the race but winning was Mark Whittaker with 69 Laps beating Roy Watson also on 69 Laps on split time and local driver Ross Wiffen with 67 Laps just holding off Alex Wood.

Quarter Final 4

The best of the quarter finals with the top 4 separated by only 2 laps winning this one was Simon Farrer with 70 Laps beating ex World Champion Johann Van Zoogel with 69 Laps and Lee Wearing third also with 69 holding off a charge from Ben Harding who came fourth with 68 Laps.

Semi Final 1

The meeting was now reaching the Semi Final stage and with 3 drivers from each Semi Final qualifying all to play, winning the first semi final was Jody Foster with 74 Laps beating Lee Wearing and Mark Whittaker who got 71 Laps beating Simon Farrer with 70 Laps.

Semi Final 2

A very fast and close race which lost Johann Van Zoogel around halfway when his engine cut out when in a promising position but winning this one was Holland’s Michel Berendsen with 71 Laps beating Roy Watson who had 70 and an excellent drive from Andrew Whittaker who claimed third..

The race set off and Jody Foster led them away and with battles all down the places with Mark Whittaker being unlucky with his engine cutting out the final positions were:

1 Jody Foster- defending his European Championship

2 Lee Wearing

3 Michel Berendsen

4 Roy Watson

5 Andrew Whittaker

6 Mark Whittaker

An excellent race between all drivers and a true credit to the sport.

Junior Final

As an extra race we had 3 juniors who had there own Junior European Championship race and it was keenly contested all the way with the results as below:

1 Scott Kinton

2 Amelia Batty

3 Joe Fletcher
